For Dai Scheffer, the body is the language of emotion. His photography captures the instinctive, physical expression of feelings — how hands reach, bodies respond, and gestures reveal the essence of human connection. His images distill the raw, instinctive truth of human connection into timeless, emotive portraits.

Dai studied Applied Photography and Image Communication at the Dutch Academy for Image Creation, graduating cum laude, with a specialization in photomechanical manipulation techniques. He gained practical experience in the studio of Erwin Olaf, first as a photography intern and later as his personal assistant. This combination of formal education and hands-on experience forms the foundation of his precise and nuanced approach to composition, light, and human presence in every work.
